Social informatics group of AkonLabs works in the intersection of computer science and social science. Our goal is to help people and organizations solve problems and make sense of the world.
We are developing a software that collects and analyzes large-scale data, turning data into stories, insights, and knowledge about human behavior and societal dynamics. We combine state of the art data mining technology with the latest results from socio-behavioral sciences.

Front End Developer (1 position)
• Programming geek

• Working Experience with Web Application Development is a plus
Back End Developer (2 positions)

As a developer, you are responsible to develop code for a Web-Based application to find patterns on very large scale data.
The system will be based on Scala and Java Programming Language and be running on Play! framework. You will work on a Big Data environment, utilizing the latest technologies such as Hadoop, NoSQL database, Natural Language Processing and Data Mining technology.
System Administrator and Security specialist (1 position)
• Deep Understanding of Linux Infrastructure
• Computer Network and Computer Security concepts
• Familiar with one at least one of these programming languages (PERL/Python/Bash)
• Working experience with Big Data and Data Mining Technology such as Hadoop or Cluster environment is a plus
As System administrator and Security specialist, your primary responsibility is to keep the infrastructure in sound and secure working condition.
The job will require you to setup, maintain day to day operation and do proper backup and restore procedures. You also need to secure the infrastructure against
malicious attacks. Working knowledge of Linux and Networking technology is a must. You will work on a Big Data environment, utilizing the latest technologies such as Hadoop, NoSQL database, Natural Language Processing and Data Mining technology.
